On our last trip to Florence in April 2022 we met up with our friend Maria Giovanna who owns and creates the beautiful painted ceramics from MG Designs in Florence. She has lived in Florence for many years and always knows about the new places that open up. She said she had to take us to a new place that was like nothing she had been to before in Florence. And wow! It was like nothing we had ever seen either. We were blown away by this place with it’s colorful and unique atmosphere and fabulous food! It’s just the type of place I love to explore because there are so many details. I can’t wait to go back and experience more of what they have to offer!

San Paolino Restaurant - When you step inside The San Paolino restaurant at the center of the historic palazzo you will be welcomed by the jeweled tones, velvety couches, glowing lighting, towering booths and lush greenery. Enjoy the ambiance, eclectic decorations, and view from the the palazzo’s skylight while you sit and savor some fabulous Italian dishes. San Paolino restaurant’s menu includes popular Tuscan dishes as well as modern Italian cuisine. And all dishes are made exclusively with fresh, local produce from the region. Dolce Amaro (bitter sweet) Bar Companion - If you aren’t interested in dining then head on over to the traditional Negroni bar for an aperitivo. Sit and sip in gorgeous blue hues with accents of red and gold. Rich, contemporary and stylish, Dolce Amaro will definitely fill you up with luxury and good drinks. The Negroni cocktail may be the star of the show here but there are many other drinks that highlight that delicious dolce amaro love. Another exciting thing about this bar is that they offer one of the famous “Buchetta del vino“, the historic little wine windows that date back to the 16th century. :) Fun Side Fact - When my mom and I opened up our Italian coffee shop together in 2004, one of the names we considered was Dolce Amaro Caffe (Bitter Sweet Coffee). We ended up naming it Caffe Di Lusso (Luxury Coffee) but I’ve never forgotten the name and how beautiful I thought the words were.

Alimentari (Italian for - food, edibles, groceries) - Another option for some delightful goodies is The Alimentari bakery and café. This cafe was developed with S. Forno, a popular Florentine bakery in the Santo Spirito neighborhood. The design is based on the style of traditional Florentine grocery shops and has everything you need for a picnic, light meal, snack or a treat. Enjoy the ambiance inside or lounge in their outdoor seating in Piazza San Paolino. Cinima Paradiso (Paradise Cinema) - The Cinema Paradiso of the 25hours Hotel is a film lounge where you can watch and enjoy movies in a relaxed lush atmosphere. Sip on a bottle of wine or a cocktail….or enjoy a selection of Tuscan meats and cheeses while you watch. It seems to good to be true but this cinema is free of charge. Just sit, sip, relax and enjoy. Movies seem to play every Sunday but the cinema will also have special event movies as well.

Library & Billiards - There happens to be a lovely little room off of the main dinning room where you can browse through a selection of books, sit and read from the selection of books or play a game of billiards. This room is warm and welcoming and you may just never want to leave!

Themed Hotel Rooms - Now to the nitty gritty part of this fun place…the themed hotel rooms!! This hotel offers 171 rooms inspired by Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy.
