DIY Lavender Sachet Gifts
Lavender is hands down my favorite all around scent! I never tire of it and it needs no season in my house :) Lavender is known for it’s relaxing and soothing qualities and is one of the most loved and used fragrances around the world. It’s use dates back to the Egyptians, Romans and Ancient Greeks who used it in perfumes, soaps, cooking, and washing clothes, among other things. It has also been used over the centuries as an aid for insomnia as well and an antiseptic. Pretty amazing huh!
These fabulously delicious smelling lavender sachets are the perfect addition to a gift basket or even a lovely fragrant party gift or wedding favor. I love to add these pretty little bags to a gift basket around the holidays….they also make wonderful additions to Mother’s day gifts.
Here in California we have a lot of Lavender so it is easy to find it close by. For my sachets’ I use the lavender I grow in my yard, but if you do not have your own lavender plants you can buy the cut dried lavender easily. Where I live I was surprised at how many people were selling this season’s dried lavender just on Facebook marketplace….and at a reasonable price too. Often you will find dried lavender at the farmers markets as well but this is usually more expensive. If the local options don’t work, you can look on Ebay.com as well as Amazon.com. These both have plenty to choose from.
DIY LAVENDER SACHETS’
WHAT YOU WILL NEED -
Dried lavender flowers
Sachet bags - like these on Amazon
Lavender essential oil - If desired
There really aren’t any instructions needed here :) Simply fill the bags with the dried lavender, trying not to crush the flowers as you go. Add in a couple of drops of lavender essential oil (if desired) for an extra lavender kick.
When you give these as gifts, share with the receiver that they can crunch up the flowers every couple of weeks (or as needed) to release more of the incredible scent!
