10 More Delicious Italian Sayings

As promised - here is a second helping of those delicious Italian sayings :) Every time I read them I can’t help but smile. I hope they bring a bit of joy to your day too! And just in case you missed the previous post….here it is - 12 Delicious Italian Saying

1. Italian saying - Nelle botti piccole sta il vino buono (good wine comes in small bottles) = English equivalent - Good things come in small packages.

2. Italian saying - Avere poco sale in zucca (to have very little salt in the pumpkin/squash) = English equivalent - to have no common sense.

3. Italian saying - Avere sale in zucca (to have salt in the pumpkin/squash) = English equivalent - to be smart or wise.

4. Italian saying - Una cigliegia tira l’altra (one cherry pulls the other) = English equivalent - you can’t have just one.

5. Italian saying - Gettare troppa carne al fuoco (to throw too much meat on the fire) = English equivalent - to have too many irons in the fire.

6. Italian saying - Non è farina del tuo sacco (It isn’t the flour from your sack) = English equivalent - You can’t take credit for it. It isn’t the fruit of your labor.

7. Italian saying - Come il cacio sui maccheroni ( It’s like cheese on macaroni) = English equivalent - to a T

8. Italian saying - Non tutte le ciambelle escono con il buco (not all donuts come out with holes) = English equivalent - Not everything turns out as expected. Everything doesn’t always turn out as planned.

9. Italian saying - E' la solita minestra riscaldata (it's the usual reheated soup) = English equivalent - It’s just the same ol’ same ol’

10. Italian Saying - Conosco i miei polli (I know my chickens) = English equivalent - I know what I’m talking about, I know my stuff. - I know this last one isn’t about food, but I love it so much I had to add it :)
