Aperol Spritz - The Italian cocktail

Aperol Spritz - This famous Italian cocktail is simple, elegant and the perfect start or finish to any beautiful afternoon or evening......or breakfast or midnight snack....or....you get the idea! Have you ever tried it? If you haven't...you must! If you have, you probably remember the exact moment in time. The moment your taste buds made a memory and placed it deep in your soul. That beautiful color, that sweetness, that bitterness, that taste like no other.....that taste of Italy.

Aperol - An herby bittersweet orange liqueur has been around since 1919. It was introduced by the Barbieri Brothers at an International Fair in Padua, in Northern Italy. It took the brothers 7 years from the time they inherited the liqueur company from their father in 1912 to the time they perfected the Aperol recipe. It was worth all the hard work and time because perfection is definitely what they hit....so much so that the secret recipe has never been changed from the original. The famous Aperol Spritz 3-2-1 cocktail recipe didn't come to be until the 1950's. It's popularity spread thanks in part to a large advertising campaign that made it's way into America and in part to the fact that it is DELICIOUS!  Since then it has made it's way up to the very top and could easily be called Italy's most favorite cocktails.
